The Evil of Myspace
I'm sure you have all heard of the site Myspace.com, many people I know including myself are on the site and use it to see how their friends are when they don't have time to call them. I have to say it is a pretty handy tool, but then again I have also come to believe that this site is evil. Myspace is an addicting site that allows people to basically stalk others without their knowledge of it. The site is a lot of things rolled into one, its a blogger, instant messenger, email, photo journal and it almost allows you to publish basically your own website while connecting to your friends sites and allowing others to see who your friends are as well. This seems innocent enough but I know people now that can't seem to go a day without logging onto the site to see if they have a message or to fill out one of those surveys so they can send it to others to read. I think I am going to start a 12 step program just for those of you that are in this particular boat. While yes there are other sites a lot like this one out there, such as facebook. com, I do not believe they hold the power over the general public that myspace does. Yesterday I was reading an article that talked about how myspace basically shut down a school in San Antonio because students from the school were making threats on the site to other students. There is a link to the article above. So in conclusion why have people become so addicted to this site? What is it about this cyber forum that people can't get enough of is what I want to know, I enjoy having it but after this I am strongly considering removing my account just so I can say I survived the online epic that was MySpace.com
