The small universe known as college or sometimes more like a black hole.
Hello everyone, I must first apologize that I haven't updated in a while. I have been entirely too busy with work and everything to even contemplate something to put on here so I will try to correct the situation right now. In the last week my good friend G-Skell introduced me to what is know in the college world as "thefacebook" (yes the words are suppose to be joined together, don't ask me why). So anyway I am sitting on this thing updating things and adding friends when I realize just how many of my friends are really on this thing. How is it possible that all of my friends are on here yet I have not been introduced to yet, I realized why about 20 minutes after updating it, its already old, yes I found a lot of friends on there and you can find out interesting facts about them on there I rather just have messenger, at least then I can talk to them and I can link to profiles or even bloggers. If I am missing something incredible about this modern marvel of the internet please inform me about it.
Okay, well that is enough about that, so then I hope everyone's summers were good, I know mine went by way to fast. School is now fast approaching and I plan on enjoying my classes this fall, the one I am looking forward to the most is "The theory of knowledge," this class sounds really interesting to me. I remember a debate I got into one time with a guy in my phil of mind class, we were discussing whether a person would turn out the same if he were raised in two different locations. Now here is the idea, same person with the same soul were raised in two different places would they be the same, my reply was no. I believe that experiences for the most part create our personalities and that our environment plays a huge role in our experiences. He said that because the person had the same soul they would turn out just alike because he believed that the soul is what dictates a person's personality. What do you guys think???? While I do believe that the soul will instill certain traits in a person, I feel that the environment plays too much of a role in our mental conditioning to be ruled out. If I am wrong in this thought process then we would be the same person no matter where we grew up. The main reason I am mentioning this is because Plato believed that we already had all knowledge, we just need to remember it which one would then tend to believe that all knowledge came from the soul if it is the one thing that is always around, I reached this point since many believe that the soul is the element that travels on when a person dies. Then again another point I will bring up with this is that if we have all knowledge then what creates the person, the knowledge all in it's self or the experience of relearning or remembering this knowledge?
These are my questions for you guys, go ahead and ponder this and get back to me with your ideas. Avoir ladies and gents
